The Bodhisattva Institute is devoted to the practice and study of Tibetan Buddhism, to daily meditations and ongoing teachings, and to firmly planting the Buddha Dharma in the community.
The Bodhisattva Institute operates under the authority of the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, headed by His Holiness the Gyalwa Karmapa. The Bodhisattva Institute was founded by His Eminence Kalu Rinpoche, head of the Dag-Shag Kagyu lineage, and is administered by his appointed representative Lama Lodu Rinpoche, the spiritual director for the center. Guidance is provided by teacher Lama Jinpa Tarchin.
The Bodhisattva Institute exists to provide training and guidance for daily living, community interaction, and social programs for the needs of its members and the community at large; to work towards fostering the tradition of ordained and lay practitioners alike; and to help foster the Bodhisattva ideal of practicing loving kindness and compassion for all living beings in all situations.
